What is U3A?

U3A is an international group of clubs which give retired people who wish to continue learning a chance to do just that.

U3A is a non-profit club to facilitate this endeavour, and we would love you to join us. It costs $30 for an annual subscription, renewable each 31st March.  How to Pay Your Subscription .

We operate through Study Groups  in which members get together and investigate subjects in ways they feel is both fun and instructive.

We publish a newsletter every second month which is emailed to members.  Read the latest newsletter.

The club is run by a committee of volunteers Contact a committee member.

Study Groups

All activities are planned by the members who act as planners, convenors, presenters and/or hosts for study groups.  Groups usually meet in a member’s home

All members are encouraged to take a turn at generating, convening, and/or hosting group(s) – but this is not compulsory!

A Committee member acts as Study Group Coordinator who maintains oversight of all the groups, advertises groups, and keeps a record of member participation.

New groups and vacancies within existing groups are published in the monthly newsletters and all groups are listed on the study group page.

General Meetings

We have a general meeting every 2 months.  Points of interest are raised and group convenors may give details of new groups or groups with vacancies.  This is followed by morning tea/coffee and then a guest speaker.

If you are thinking of joining U3A please come along and find out more about us.
